This special head gasket incorporates a thicker, ground and coated intermediate plate.

The compression ratio is 10:1, as standard, because the VR6 was originally supplied with a 1.6 mm composite gasket.

Conventional metal gaskets are usually only 0.6 mm thick, which can cause engine knock or operation at the knock limit.
