This listing is for the pictured 1 mm compression reduction plate, suitable for the 1.3-litre VW Polo G40 engine block.

Engine code: PY. The plate also fits numerous 0.9–1.3-litre VW models, including the VW Polo, Golf 2, Jetta 2 and Golf 3.

When converting to a turbocharger or supercharger, the compression ratio must be reduced. This can be achieved with special pistons or a spacer plate, allowing significantly higher boost pressures and power outputs. Under forced induction, the original pistons may not withstand the resulting temperatures at the standard compression ratio.
