VR6 Compression Reduction Plate

Compression reduction plate for the VR6 2.8–2.9 12V, made of 1.5 mm steel and including a chain tensioner sleeve.

This compression reduction plate is specifically designed for use with composite gaskets, approximately 1.6 mm thick. The resulting compression ratio is 7.9:1.

When converting to a turbo or supercharger, the compression ratio must be reduced. This can be achieved with special pistons or an intermediate plate. This allows considerably higher boost pressures and power outputs. Under forced induction, the original pistons would not withstand the resulting temperatures at the standard compression ratios.
